We quite often talk about excellence to our clients, colleagues and sometimes even our families! However our descriptions and assessments are from our perspective, based on our experiences and our expectations of what can be achieved.
Engaging someone on a journey to excellence requires them to take the first steps, realise how long the journey really is and make the commitment to achieve it. We need to act as the the “pebble-chuckers” for our intended audience, utilising models to help them make the connections between each of the nodes and the challenges of their organisation.
Talking about excellence is cheap it takes real effort and the twisting of many dials in the organisation and therefore time to overcome the initial momentum and move towards the end goal.
